Dillons breaks ground on $35 million prototype store in Wichita

WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — Dillons broke ground Thursday on its newest location in Wichita.

The grocery retailer said the new facility near Kansas Highway 96 and Ridge Road will bring the company’s latest prototype to Wichita.

“As a hometown grocer in Kansas, we are thrilled to break ground on this exciting new Dillons Marketplace,” said Steve Dreher, division president of Dillons Stores. “Our investment of $35 million highlights our dedication to fostering economic growth and creating new jobs. This new store is a testament to our commitment to providing innovative, one-of-a-kind shopping experiences that meet the needs of our customers while supporting the vitality of Wichita.”

A next-generation QuikTrip opens in west Wichita

The 99,000-square-foot store will feature:

  • Expanded fresh food offerings, with a large selection of fresh produce, meats, sushi, deli and bakery
  • Murray’s Cheese Shop, which features a large selection of domestic and imported cheeses, gourmet olives, and specialty antipasto offerings
  • Chinese Kitchen
  • Enhanced pharmacy services, with private consultation rooms and a drive-thru
  • A clothing and accessory section for men, women and children
  • Expanded beauty and wellness area
  • Cookware and kitchen appliance section with kitchen essentials, cookware and modern small appliances
  • Online ordering with pickup and delivery options
  • Larger fuel center

It will be the 16th Dillons location in Wichita and is expected to open next year…
