NORTHUMBERLAND — A Gansevoort woman whose body was found in her fire-ravaged home was likely murdered, WTEN News10 reported.Nancy Book, 64, was found dead on June 2 after emergency crews arrived to fight a fire at the Old Saratoga Road home in the hamlet she shared with her husband David Book, 70. David Book, who was initially pulled from the fire by a Saratoga County deputy, also died.At the time, State Police said Saratoga Hospital officials determined that the two died of asphyxia due to smoke inhalation.But on Thursday, WTEN reported that the Saratoga County medical examiner ruled Nancy Book’s death a homicide.
