ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) — Due to excessive heat and humidity on Friday, some Capital Region schools are closed or are dismissing early. According to meteorologist Matt Mackie, temperatures will be up in the low 90s for most, and a Heat Advisory is in effect for most of the Albany area from noon to 8 p.m.

Amsterdam
The Greater Amsterdam School District is dismissing only their elementary schools early at 11:30 a.m.
Cohoes
Cohoes City School District is closing early. Elementary schools are dismissing at 11:40 a.m., middle school at 11:15 a.m. and high school at 11:08 a.m. There will be no after-school programs.
Duanesburg
Duanesburg Central School District is closing early with students dismissing at 11:15 a.m. The play will still be held at 6:30 p.m.
Glens Falls
Glens Falls Common School District is closing early at 11:15 a.m.

Granville
Granville Central School District is dismissing students at 11:15 a.m. Field Day has been rescheduled to Monday.
Green Tech High Charter School
Green Tech High Charter School is closing early at 11:30 a.m. There will be no afternoon activities.
Greenwich
Greenwich Central School District is dismissing students at 11:35 a.m.
Hoosic Valley
Hoosic Valley Central School District will be closing early, with the elementary students dismissing at 11:15 a.m. and the high school at 11:25 a.m.

The Johnstown City School District will be closing early at 11 a.m. There will be no after-school programs.
Lansingburgh
All schools in the Lansingburgh Central School District are closed on Friday.
Waterford-Halfmoon
The Waterford-Halfmoon Union Free School District will be closing early, with elementary students dismissing at 11:30 am. and high school students at 11 a.m.
Whitehall
Whitehall Central School District ic closing early, with elemenetary students dismissing at 12:15 p.m. and high school students at 11:15 a.m.
