NYSP stated that the driver of a 2011 International Harvester dump truck reportedly lost control of the vehicle while heading east on the Thruway, prompting the truck to overturn. The driver, a 26-year-old Schenectady man, was taken to Albany Medical Center to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

Detectives determined that tire failure is believed to have caused the rollover. The right eastbound lane in the vicinity has since reopened after being closed for several hours.
