Severe weather returns on Saturday across Kansas

WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) – It is a comfortable, borderline cool morning across Kansas with wake-up temperatures in the 50s and lower 60s. Later today will be less windy, mainly sunny, and seasonably warm with highs in the upper 80s. A few storms are possible across southwest Kansas this evening, but most will stay dry.

Our next cold front will arrive on Saturday bringing with it a chance of showers and storms during the afternoon and evening. In addition to areas of heavy rain, some of the storms – along and south of a Dodge City to Salina line – will be strong/severe with large hail and gusty winds. Additional showers are possible on Sunday, especially along and south of I-70.

Early next week looks unseasonably cool with lows in the 40s and 50s, and highs in the 70s. A rapid warm-up is expected after that with highs in the 80s on Tuesday giving way 90s Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday…
