3-time convicted felon aimed slingshot while on bicycle, police said

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — Las Vegas police said a three-time convicted felon refused to follow their orders while riding a bicycle and threatened an officer with a slingshot he pulled out of his backpack, according to documents obtained by 8NewsNow.com.

Anthony De La Corte, 41, was arrested on 10 charges, including assault and battery on a protected person, illegal possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia, illegal possession of credit or debit cards, resisting arrest, and a broken bicycle lamp, records said.

According to an arrest report, De La Corte was spotted by police riding a bicycle without a red rear reflector light around 2:30 a.m. on May 30 near N. Lamb Boulevard and E. Alexander Road.

A Metro police officer attempted to stop De La Corte, turning on his vehicle’s lights and sirens, but the bicyclist continued to ride, appearing to ignore police commands…
