Replacement of McEachern stadium home stands balloons to nearly $24M

MARIETTA — The cost to replace the home-side grandstands of McEachern High School’s Cantrell Stadium is now pushing $24 million, with the Cobb County School District agreeing to pay $8.23 million, alongside $7.5 million from the school’s endowment fund, toward construction.

The school board — with board members Leroy Tre’ Hutchins and John Cristadoro absent — voted 5-0 to approve an $8.23 million contract with Parrish Construction Group, previously tapped as the project’s construction manager, for construction of the stands and associated support facilities, including restrooms and concession stands.
