AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) – Georgia is launching a work-based learning diploma pathway that combines classroom learning with paid work experience to help students move into high-demand careers after high school.
The program gives Richmond County School District students a fourth diploma option.
“Right now we had three diploma options and now work-based learning diploma will give us a fourth diploma option,” said Dr. Stacy Mabry, director of high school programming and workforce development for Richmond County School District. “The Georgia Department of Education really helped to kind of catapult work-based learning into a new sphere.”…
