Greenville man sentenced for 2022 attempted murder, armed robbery

GREENVILLE COUNTY, S.C. (FOX Carolina) – The Thirteenth Circuit Solicitor’s Office announced that a Greenville man pleaded guilty to attempted murder and armed robbery charges from 2022 on Thursday.

David Travell Deshawn Burris, 23, was sentenced ot thirty years in the South Carolina Department of Corrections on the following charges:

  • Attempted Murder
  • Armed Robbery
  • (2 counts) Possession of a Weapon During the Commission of a Violent Crime
  • Conspiracy
  • Grand Larceny

Evidence presented during the plea hearing established that on Jan. 6, 2022, Burris and a codefendant stole a car from a pizza delivery driver, who was then shot in the leg.

Officials said that on Feb. 8, 2022, Burris approached another victim while wearing a ski mask and armed with a shotgun and demanded the victim turn over his car keys. Burris drove off in the victim’s vehicle, which was later observed in the parking lot of the apartment complex where Burris lived…
