Street nickname helps police solve Napier Homes shooting, suspect faces four felonies

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WZTV) — A street nickname cracked a shooting case at Napier Homes. Detectives already knew who went by “Cheese” when the victim named his attacker that way, and a photo lineup confirmed it, leading to four felony charges against the suspect.

Authorities arrested James C. Jenkins, 45, who has a prior drug felony conviction, for the shooting of Othello Lane, 29, who was wounded in the leg.

According to detectives, Lane said he was hanging out in a breezeway when he was confronted by a man he knows as “Cheese.”…
