AMARILLO, Texas (KFDA) – As a major data center project moves forward near Amarillo, Governor Greg Abbott is directing state regulators to ensure residential customers are not left paying for the infrastructure costs to support the industry’s expansion.
On Wednesday, Abbott instructed the state’s Public Utility Commission (PUC) and the Electric Reliability Council (ERCOT) to take steps to protect residential and small business customers from costs associated with data center growth.
