A Traffic Stop for A Missing Plate Ended With Three Felony Cocaine Arrests

A Fulshear Police Department drone helped officers turn a routine traffic stop into a cocaine bust and three arrests, the department said in a Facebook post. The original stop was over a missing license plate on a panel truck. What the drone operator saw during the encounter, the department said, contributed to the case officers eventually built.

The drone was offering aerial support during the stop as part of an officer safety program. Its operator noticed some suspicious movements with the vehicle’s occupants while the officer was at the truck. That’s what helped the encounter transcend from a routine plate stop into a much bigger problem.

A search of the truck turned up cocaine concealed inside the vehicle, according to the department. The three occupants were taken into custody at the scene. All three were charged with felony narcotics offenses…
