Milwaukee police shoot and kill armed robbery suspect after standoff

Milwaukee police shot and killed a 22-year-old man Friday after a nearly two-hour standoff that began with reports of an armed robbery and ended with officers firing at the suspect on the second-floor landing of an apartment building.

Milwaukee Police Chief Jeffrey Norman said uniformed officers responded at approximately 10:58 a.m. to the 8500 block of West Call Avenue after a caller reported a subject with a gun who threatened to shoot them. Investigators later learned the suspect had attempted to rob the caller.

Officers spotted the suspect walking away from the scene armed with a revolver. When they attempted to stop him, the suspect held the revolver to his own head, told officers to shoot him, and threatened to shoot officers before fleeing on foot to a nearby apartment building.
