Two Wellington firefighters injured, dogs rescued in house fire

WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — Two Wellington firefighters were injured on Friday during a response to a house fire that included the rescue of two dogs.

According to the Wellington Fire/Emergency Medical Services Department, crews were dispatched to a home in west Wellington for a reported structure fire.

Photos posted by the department show heavy flames coming from the front of the house, including the attached garage.

“Thanks to the rapid response and decisive action of our crews, a quick knockdown was achieved, successfully preventing the fire from spreading into the main living areas of the house,” Wellington Fire wrote on Facebook…
