Tim Allen recently reflected on the key factors behind his enduring marriage to Jane Hajduk, which has now spanned almost 20 years. In a candid interview with Us Weekly, the actor emphasized the role humor plays in sustaining their relationship through life’s ups and downs.
“I think a sense of humor saves us so many times,” Allen shared. He recalled a lighthearted moment discussing their daughter Elizabeth, who is set to be a high school senior next year. The couple was chatting about the milestone when Jane cracked a funny remark from the golf cart, reminding him how much he cherishes her wit.
Allen also highlighted how their differences complement each other. Jane, an accomplished athlete and devout Catholic, inspired him to embrace fitness and faith in his own way.
“She’s a very good athlete and got me involved in training, and she’s a staunch Catholic, and I joined her with that,” he explained. While not Catholic himself, Allen said he appreciates the balance they maintain and the mutual respect they share.
The pair first began dating around 2001 and tied the knot in an intimate ceremony in Grand Lake, Colorado, in 2006. They have a daughter together, Elizabeth Allen-Dick, born in 2009. Allen also has another daughter, Katherine, from a previous marriage.
In recent interviews, Jane Hajduk mentioned how trying new activities like stretching sessions has helped keep their bond fresh. “Our new activity is stretching. We go to a little stretch lab, and then we go have breakfast,” she said.
