Vehicle Overturns, Another Catches Fire in 10 Freeway Crash Near Palms

LOS ANGELES – A late-night multi-vehicle crash shut down several lanes of the eastbound 10 Freeway near Palms after one vehicle overturned roughly 50 feet down an embankment and another caught fire, according to the California Highway Patrol.

CHP officers responded around 11:15 p.m. Thursday to the Robertson Boulevard on-ramp to the eastbound freeway, where they found at least four vehicles involved in the crash. Two vehicles had gone down the embankment, while two others were just off the right side of the freeway, a CHP spokesperson said.

Video from the scene showed a smoldering sedan that appeared to have caught fire, along with a large red vehicle with a broken windshield down the embankment. Clothes were strewn on the ground as a CHP officer interviewed several people nearby…
