Open Streets Nashville returns downtown with car-free activities

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WZTV) — Residents and visitors will have a chance to experience downtown Nashville without vehicle traffic when Open Streets Nashville returns Saturday, June 13.

The event will temporarily transform portions of downtown streets into pedestrian-friendly spaces, allowing people to walk, bike, roll and participate in community activities along a car-free route.

According to Metro Nashville, Open Streets Nashville encourages residents to explore the city in a different way while highlighting opportunities for walking, biking, and other forms of active transportation.

Organizers say the event is designed to bring neighbors together and showcase a vision for a more connected city. Attendees are encouraged to bring friends, bicycles or simply comfortable walking shoes to take part in the festivities…
