Filtered sunshine, near-record heat, storm chances Saturday; feels like temperatures at/above 100 degrees

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Filtered sunshine will push through during the morning hours, sending temperatures climbing into the 90s by early afternoon.

Highs are expected to peak in the mid-to-upper 90s, similar to Friday’s pattern. Afternoon heat and lower humidity will keep heat index values in the 103-to-107-degree range — just below Heat Advisory thresholds.

With the summertime heat, it’s important to stay hydrated, take frequent breaks if working outside, and always double-check the backseat.
