Crews battle vegetation fire at MCAS Miramar base

SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — Firefighters are responding to a vegetation fire that’s burning on base at MCAS Miramar, Cal Fire officials confirmed.

The blaze, dubbed the “Miramar Fire,” was first reported around 1:46 p.m. Saturday about 1 mile south of Almond Orchard Lane and Wheatland Place.

Cal Fire crews are responding, alongside San Diego Fire-Rescue crews.

Officials say the blaze has reached 5 acres, and no structures are threatened at this time.
