Missing Air Force retiree seen in last known photograph day before disappearance

(NewsNation) — Retired Air Force officer William Neil McCasland divulged fears of mental and physical decline and a recent nightmare of being abandoned by friends around the time he went missing Feb. 27 in New Mexico, a report says.

The “Los Angeles Magazine” article, which scrapes information from a variety of police reports and documents obtained through a public records request, also features what could be the last known verified image of the 68-year-old McCasland.

The Feb. 26 surveillance photo shows the silver-haired retiree carrying items, including what appears to be a First Aid kit, at an REI store in the region.
