Lake Oswego police arrest man who allegedly stole checks throughout Portland metro area

The Lake Oswego Police Department arrested a man for mail theft and other crimes after discovering hundreds of stolen checks and money linked to incidents across the Portland metro area at an Oregon City residence Friday, June 12.

The department received a tip about a suspicious incident involving a man who may have been stealing mail from the United States Postal Service location on 4th Street in Lake Oswego. The suspect fled when officers found their vehicle but police were able to later execute a search warrant at their home in Oregon City.

“During the search, investigators recovered hundreds of stolen bank checks, large quantities of stolen mail, and thousands of dollars in cash linking the suspect to multiple mail theft incidents throughout Clackamas, Multnomah, and Washington counties over the past several months. Detectives also contacted and arrested the suspect, identified as Emmanuel Coa,” the press release said…
