NEW YORK (PIX11) – A local union is giving New York City residents the opportunity to earn money while training for a career that can pay over $90,000 per year.
The Joint Apprenticeship and Training Committee for Construction and General Building Laborers is offering 200 apprenticeships for skilled laborers, according to the New York Department of Labor.

According to data, construction laborers earn 46.05 an hour. Local Union No. 79 will distribute 2,000 applications for this opportunity for a limited time.
Applications will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. Recruitment will take place for only two hours each day over 10 business days, or until all 2,000 applications have been issued, according to the announcement.

- Once a New Yorker completes and accepts an application request, they receive a confirmation email.
- Applicants with a confirmation email will receive a separate application email.
- The first 2000 applicants will then be placed in the applicant pool and will receive an application in a separate e-mail.
- Applicants must download, print, complete, and sign the application, then return it to the union.
- Applicants must submit applications in person within 10 business days of their request.

- Parties who don’t submit a complete application will be deemed to have voluntarily withdrawn from the application process.
