Twin Cities experiencing one of hottest starts to June on record

The first 10 days of June each saw 80-degree or warmer high temperatures in the Twin Cities.

Maybe that doesn’t sound remarkable, but that’s only happened two other times in 154 years of records. The other instances were just back in 2023 and in 1976.

It’s one of those under the radar, creeping elements of climate change we don’t necessarily notice. It’s hard to complain about an early start to summer, but it’s not normal for Minnesota.

The normal high doesn’t reach 80 degrees in the Twin Cities until June 17. So to have 10 consecutive days of 80+ is remarkable this early…
