BURKE COUNTY, Ga. (WJBF) – One person is dead after an early Sunday morning shooting in Burke County.
According to the Burke County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to the 200 block of Highway 23 on June 14 at approximately 1:13 a.m. “in reference to a physical altercation that escalated into a shooting.”
Upon arrival, deputies said they located an adult male suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. Aid and CPR were given to until Burke County Emergency Management Agency (EMA) arrived on scene. The victim was transported to an area hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries…
