Former Arkansas Gov. Asa Hutchinson celebrates Arkansas’ 190th birthday in Fayetteville Sunday

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (KNWA/KFTA) — In a special lecture commemorating 190 years of Arkansas’ statehood on Sunday, former Arkansas Governor, Asa Hutchinson, said, “I’ve never been more excited about the future of Arkansas than now.”

Hutchinson spoke about the history as well as the growth of Arkansas since it first joined the United States June 15, 1836, encouraging residents to uphold the state’s tradition and values of service and entrepreneurship for the next 190 years.

Speaking at the First Christian Church in Fayetteville before a large crowd, the former governor made sure to take comments and answer questions from audience members.

“You look at the transition of our state from Indian territory to frontier land,” Hutchin said, “then you saw the growth of individual entrepreneurs in our state that changed our culture, that changed the opportunities in the state.”…
