Some Albany school zone speed cameras to remain active through summer

ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) — The school year may be coming to a close, but school zone speeding enforcement won’t be taking a vacation. Several school zone cameras across the city of Albany are set to remain active throughout the summer, according to the Albany Police Department.

Five cameras will stay on during summer school hours, which will vary on location. All other cameras will reportedly be turned off at the end of the academic year.

Each active camera will enforce a 20-mph speed limit. Take a look below for a full list of cameras and their locations and hours.

Albany summer school speed zone cameras

  • Albany High School, 700 Washington Avenue
    • To be active from July 13 to August 17
    • 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays
  • Hackett Middle School/Toast School, 45 Delaware Avenue and 94 Delaware Avenue
    • To be active from July 6 through August 7
    • 7:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Mondays through Fridays
  • Pine Hills Elementary, 41 North Allen Street
    • To be active from July 6 through August 14
    • 7 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., Mondays through Fridays
  • KIPP Capital High School, 296 Northern Boulevard
    • To be active June 26 through July 17
    • 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., Mondays through Fridays
  • Green Tech High School, 99 Slingerland Street
    • To be active July 6 through July 30
    • 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., Mondays through Fridays
