Scattered storms and cooler temps ahead for Columbus area

COLUMBUS, Ga. (WRBL) — Happy Sunday! It was another hot day. Heat index temperatures rose to 104 degrees in some areas this afternoon. The good news: relief is on the way in the forecast.

Next Week: Rain will become more widespread next week. The rain on Tuesday is set to continue almost all day. This unsettled pattern will continue all week, bringing several rounds of scattered storms. Rain will eventually taper off by next weekend.

The cold front that will bring the first round of rain will bring cooler temperatures tomorrow! By Tuesday, many areas will struggle to get out of the 70s. Unfortunately, the heat will return by the end of the week…
