COLUMBUS, Ga. (WRBL) — A modernized gospel film premiered right here in Columbus at Rainey-McCullers School of the Arts on Saturday afternoon as part of the Columbus, Georgia Juneteenth Celebration 2026.
Several Columbus locals and people from out of town gathered at Rainey-McCullers for the premiere of “Yesterday Today Forever.”
The gospel-centered film takes its viewers through the days leading up to the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus Christ but with a hip hop flare. The story is told through the lens of Pete, intended to represent the disciple Peter from the bible, officials said.
Executive Director and Writer of the film, Domingo Guyton, says the film gives people a chance to see the story of the gospel retold in a modern-day fashion while also being rooted in scripture.
“Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today and forever, so anything around Him is in a modern context but His words don’t change. So, when he opens His mouth it’s like reading the red letters. It feels great for the world to be able to see. I’m excited that people can finally see it and people can be blessed by the truth of the gospel,” Guyton said…
