Crowded race taking shape for Ann Arbor’s board of education

ANN ARBOR, MI – With just over a month until the filing deadline, the race for Ann Arbor Public Schools’ Board of Education is starting to fill up.

At least six newcomers have thrown their hat into the ring, as of this month, with support for teachers and district finances continuing to make up some of their top motivators.

School board candidates have until Tuesday, July 21, to file, according to the state. Overall, there could be up to five openings in the Ann Arbor board election in November – four for four-year terms and another to serve two years…
