North Myrtle Beach adopts FY 2027 budget with property tax hike

NORTH MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WPDE) — North Myrtle Beach City Council approved a property tax increase Monday night as part of the city’s $190.2 million fiscal year 2027 budget.

Council approved a five-mill increase in the city’s property tax rate, raising the millage from 45 mills to 50 mills.

City officials said the increase is designed to help fund public safety operations and create a more stable revenue source for day-to-day government services…
