Experience a new exhibit highlighting the history of Montgomery County

ROANOKE, Va. (WDBJ) – Montgomery County 250 Exhibit is a new exhibit highlighting the history and cultural development of Montgomery County and the surrounding Appalachian region as part of Virginia’s 250th commemoration.

Beginning with the Revolutionary era and the formation of Montgomery County in 1776, the exhibit explores how landscape, transportation, agriculture, industry, and tourism shaped the growth of local communities.

Through historical photographs, maps, artifacts, audio recordings, and interactive displays, visitors will learn about early settlement, frontier life, railroads, mining, logging, and the people who helped build the region…
