Boba, kebabs and airport restaurants: Business openings in Sacramento County

To spotlight new eateries, the Sacramento County Environmental Management Department gave a shoutout on its social media page to small businesses and restaurants in the region that recently celebrated openings.

The agency is part of the Sacramento County Department of Health Services and its employees conduct restaurant inspections at retail food places across Sacramento County.

Here’s a look at a few of the businesses in the county spotlight:

E Ka Tea

A new boba spot has arrived on 2100 16th St in Richmond Grove. Known as E Ka Tea, this tea shop sells boba milk tea and fruit tea flavors, a jasmine milk tea and a strawberry tea, according to its online menu. E Ka Tea also serves egg puffs, a Hong Kong street food much like a waffle made from sweet egg batter. Other offerings at E Ka Tea include a variety of rose teas, smoothies, juices, slushies and rice bowls. E Ka Tea is open daily from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Spice Kabab

Rancho Cordova is home to Spice Kabab, an Afghan and Middle Eastern restaurant, at 3000 Sunrise Blvd. As its name spells out, the restaurant is most known for its grilled meat kebabs. Spice Kabab also sells naan, curry, biryani, wraps and samosas, according to its online menu. Diners can try out Spice Kabab on Mondays through Thursdays from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. The restaurant remains open an hour later on the weekends.

Los Langostinos

Operating in the heart of a number of Latino-owned restaurants in Sacramento, Los Langostinos, 2236 Northgate Blvd. in Gardenland, is now open for business. The restaurant specializes in seafood dishes, including ceviche, pina rellena, camarones cucarachas and botana kora. Los Langostinos is open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Rich Express

Tucked away in one of Sacramento County’s unincorporated communities, Rich Express, 5595 Hillsdale Blvd., serves an array of typical Chinese takeout. Located in Foothill Farms, Rich Express sells 31 combination plates, ranging from $9.99 to $10.99, according to its online menu. Rich Express is open from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Mondays through Saturdays.

Nixtacto

Another new dining option is available for travelers coming through Sacramento International Airport. Known as a “farms to tacos” restaurant, Nixtacto, a Mexican taqueria based in the Sacramento area, is now serving food to airport passengers in Terminal B, according to the Sacramento International Airport…
