Bail Set for Northeast Iowa Woman Accused of Leaving Scene of Accident That Killed Pedestrian

A bail has been set for northeast Iowa woman has been arrested in connection with a hit-and-run accident last month in which a pedestrian died. The suspect also allegedly later tried to report her vehicle as stolen.

Shortly before 9:30 PM May 20th, Waterloo police and fire crews responded to the 1000 block of San Marnan Drive after receiving a report of a man lying in the road with injuries. Officers say they found that 32-year-old Joshua Ehr of Waterloo had been hit by a car that left the scene. First responders tried to save Ehr’s life, but he was later pronounced dead at a local hospital.

A subsequent investigation has identified 53-year-old Jodie Hill of Waterloo as the driver who hit Ehr with her vehicle and then drove away. Waterloo Police arrested Hill at about 1 AM Friday (06.12) morning…
