Louisiana law expands survivor benefits for families of reserve officers and firefighters

LAFAYETTE, La. (KLFY) — A new Louisiana law is expanding survivor benefits for the families of reserve and auxiliary law enforcement officers and firefighters killed in the line of duty.

House Bill 12, recently signed by Governor Jeff Landry, extends survivor benefits to the spouses and children of reserve and auxiliary first responders who lose their lives while serving their communities.
