Local economies across north-central Arkansas experienced steady financial gains in 2025, driven by strong consumer spending that pushed several area counties and municipalities up the state’s tax revenue rankings.
According to newly released data compiled by Arkansas Business, Baxter County led the region in county collections, securing the 16th spot statewide with $14.25 million in local sales tax receipts. Independence County followed close behind at 17th with $14.16 million.
