NEWTON, Kan. (KWCH) – The Newton Presbyterian Manor held an ice cream social for first responders on Monday.
The Harvey County Sheriff’s Office, along with the Newton Police, Fire and EMS department were invited to the event. The manor said it’s an opportunity for first responders to meet the residents outside of an emergency situation.
“You get everybody from our cottages, our duplexes, independent living, assisted living and healthcare all out on the patio to enjoy ice cream,” said Emily Trask, the executive director of Newton Presbyterian Manor. “Usually on a hot day, and just community and conversation.”…
