HPD arrests suspect in early morning fatal shooting

HONOLULU, Hawaii (Island News) — A 37-year-old man is in police custody in connection to a fatal early morning shooting in the Keeaumoku area.

Honolulu Police officers arrested the suspect Monday afternoon on suspicion of murder in the second degree, for the death of a 23-year-old man.

The shooting took place near the intersection of Keeaumoku St. and Kapiolani Blvd. Officers were flagged down at 4:53 a.m. and were told that the victim suffered a gunshot wound. Once the victim was located, officers began rendering aid. Emergency Medical Services treated the man for critical injuries and transported him to the hospital, where he later died…
