La Vergne Firefighters Stop Detached Garage Fire Before It Spreads

LA VERGNE, Tenn. (WGNS) – A detached garage on Quail Drive in La Vergne sustained significant fire damage Monday morning, but emergency crews contained the flames before they could spread to nearby homes.

La Vergne Fire Rescue rushed to the scene at 9:52 a.m. A City of La Vergne employee driving through the neighborhood noticed smoke coming from the property, knocked on the door to alert the residents, and dialed 911.

Firefighters arrived within three minutes and found heavy smoke pouring from the two-story detached garage. Crews moved quickly and brought the fire under control by 10:12 a.m.

Battalion Chief Patrick Hood reported that 21 total personnel responded to the emergency. The response included three fire engines, one truck company, and Box 55 Rehab support.
