SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — A task force has been created to help determine the future of what will be the former site of the Smithfield pork plant in downtown Sioux Falls.
The Falls Are Development Corporation (FADC), a non-profit under the Sioux Falls Development Foundation, announced Monday, the formation of the Sanford District Advisory Task Force. T. Denny Sanford has pledged $50 million toward the redevelopment of the planned former Smithfield site. The news release from the foundation and FADC said this will be a multi-year process with actual new development starting in 2030.
