DUANESBURG — It has been almost 10 months since Schenectady County issued a boil-water order for the front section of the Hillcrest Villas Mobile Home Park. With the order still in effect as of Tuesday, the county announced plans to take legal action against park owner Sam Obermeister and his company, Mobile Properties, LLC.
The advisory was put into place on Aug. 17 after the county said it discovered residents in the front portion of the park had lost water service. Since then, “recurring water outages and shortages” have left the order in place, and park operators have been facilitating the delivery of bulk water orders, the county said.
On May 14, the county’s Public Health Services department gave Obermeister 30 days to fix the system’s deficiencies and submit a letter from a state-licensed professional engineer outlining a plan for a formal evaluation of the system and options for correcting the outage…
