Potential tropical cyclone could bring more rain to South Carolina Upstate

(WSPA) — A disturbance over southern Texas that could become the season’s first tropical cyclone has the potential to bring more rain to the Upstate by the end of this week.

The storm is forecast to become Tropical Storm Arthur sometime in the next 24 hours. The Upstate could see effects of the storm on Thursday or Friday as the system interacts with a cold front set to move through the area.

Increased rainfall rates are possible due to the storm. Tropical Storm Watches have been issued for parts of the Texas and Louisiana coastlines.
