NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — What started as a missed trash pickup day has turned into a month-long frustration for one Nashville neighborhood.
On June 5, the third-party company that Metro Waste Services hires out to collect some of the city’s trash missed their pickup day for a neighborhood in East Nashville, leaving people with piles of trash in front of their homes.

According to Metro Council member Emily Benedict, those residing in the 37216 ZIP code were impacted the most.
Since June 5, crews have been working to get back on track. The next scheduled trash day for the area isn’t until June 26, but Metro is working with crews to run extra routes on Saturday, June 20, and Monday, June 22.
