St. Lucie County woman nearly loses over $400k to gold courier scam

ST. LUCIE COUNTY, Fla. (CBS12) — The St. Lucie County Sheriff’s Office is warning residents to remain vigilant following a highly sophisticated “gold courier” scam that nearly cost an elderly resident her entire life savings.

According to authorities, quick action by the victim ultimately prevented a massive $414,000 financial loss.
