There are no plans for temperatures to cool down anytime soon, but that just gives people the perfect excuse to soak up the sun, cool off in the pool, and indulge in something sweet.
In St. Martinville, a new ice cream parlor is set to open, offering a timely spot to beat the heat with a cold treat. The Daily Scoop will open Saturday, offering 13 Blue Bell ice cream flavors along with sherbet and sugar-free vanilla.
Marty and Sheri Theriot, owners of The Daily Scoop, said they hope people will walk in feeling warm and welcomed, as the shop transports visitors back to a vintage 1950s-style ice cream parlor.
