Albuquerque woman sentenced in connection to deadly shooting

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – An Albuquerque woman who was involved in a deadly shooting alongside her teenage son was sentenced on Tuesday. Jazmin Ruiz-Castro, 35, was with her teenage son, Daniel Eduardo Ruiz, and two other suspects at an apartment complex near Menaul and Juan Tabo.

According to police reports, her son, Daniel, shot the victim, Fabian Romero. Police said that Ruiz-Castro had a restraining order against Romero, who was her ex-boyfriend. Reports said that she found Romero at her house and screamed, waking up her son. According to the Albuqeurque Police Department, Eduardo Ruiz shot Romero, believing he was stabbing his mother.
