Wilmington Police Identify Suspect in Hospital Shooting; One Dead, One Critically Injured

The Wilmington Police Department has named 23-year-old John Wallace-Bey of New Castle as the suspect in a shooting that took place at a local hospital on Tuesday. Wallace-Bey was apprehended in Philadelphia and is awaiting extradition back to Delaware.

Authorities report that Wallace-Bey faces several serious charges, including first-degree murder, first-degree attempted murder, two counts of possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, and carrying a concealed deadly weapon.

The victims, both 19-year-old males, were hospitalized following the incident. Police Chief Wilfredo Campos confirmed during a press briefing that one victim succumbed to his injuries, while the other remains in critical but stable condition. The name of the deceased has not yet been released.

The investigation into the shooting is ongoing as law enforcement officials continue to gather information surrounding the circumstances of the attack. Further updates will be provided as the case develops.
