How much weightlifting do you really need? New study finds a sweet spot for living longer

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WZTV) — If you’ve ever wondered whether spending hours in the gym is worth it, a new study suggests you may not need nearly as much weightlifting as you think.

Researchers who followed more than 147,000 adults for up to 30 years found that about 90 to 120 minutes of resistance training per week was linked to the greatest reduction in the risk of death from all causes.
