St. Louis freight project list highlights $9.2 billion in regional needs

ST. LOUIS — Critical transportation infrastructure projects totaling $9.2 billion for the St. Louis region were highlighted as part of FreightWeekSTL, an annual transportation-related summit sponsored by the Bi-State Development Agency.

Ranging from airport improvements to major highway interchanges and potential bridge replacements or expansions, “Priority Freight Projects 2027” includes 29 major projects across the St. Louis region, including recently finished, funded, partially funded, and planned projects.

“The list highlights the top infrastructure needs of the manufacturing and logistics industries in Eastern Missouri and Southwestern Illinois and is a valuable tool used to advocate for support and funding for critical freight infrastructure improvements that strengthen the St. Louis region’s position as a world-class freight and logistics hub,” said Mary Lamie, the executive vice president of multimodal enterprises for Bi-State Development and head of the St. Louis Regional Freightway…
