Steven Izzo working Meijer LPGA Classic for second year

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — The Meijer LPGA Classic tees off Thursday. Organizers have been working all year for the upcoming weekend, including a well-known Michigan State University alum.

Steven Izzo has always bled green and white. Now, he’s a proud west sider. Izzo helped organize the Meijer LPGA Classic, while finding a home and putting his college basketball work ethic to good use.

The classic is Izzo’s second time working the event. This year, he’s organizing the Discovery Land for kids — which is an annual hit.

Izzo says he figured out how to make it bigger and better than last year and the year before, but says his nieces will be the judges of that.
