Attorney and Second Suspect Arrested for Allegedly Bringing Controlled Substances into San Bernardino Central Detention Center

SAN BERNARDINO, CA — The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department arrested two men on May 26, 2026, after investigators discovered suspected narcotics in a vehicle at the Central Detention Center located at 630 E. Rialto Avenue in San Bernardino.

During the operation, investigators conducted a search of a red Nissan Sentra parked in the facility’s employee parking lot. Inside the vehicle, authorities contacted 52-year-old David Montrenes of Lake Forest. Deputies determined that Montrenes had driven Bryan Fazio, a licensed California attorney, to the detention center for an official attorney visit.

A search of the vehicle and subsequent investigation revealed that Montrenes was in possession of a vape device containing cannabis, alongside additional suspected narcotics. He was detained at the scene without incident…
